Terkita Lynn Merrick. Terk rolls off the tongue a lot better, trust me. I'm a seventeen year old with a penchant for getting in trouble with the law and love for climbing the trees. Reared in the type of family that teaches you to drink pinky out, and I definitely demonstrate that technique as I throw back a beer. Music runs through my veins. That's all.
Dating someone with a name that's not even close to what he actually is. Zero, aka, Zachary Delacour.
hold me, feel my heartbeat
Flounder leaned against the table positioned next to the bed Terk was seated in as the nurse cleaned the cut on her hand and listened as she explained what she was going through. He couldn’t believe that of all the people that go through this that Terk would be one of them. It was hard to believe that one of his friends had some form of cancer and he listening, trying to understand Terk’s the reason decision. “Oh Terk, I’m so sorry.”
He watched as Terk hissed at the liquid the nurse used to clean her hand, his face turning into a slight grimace at her pain. When Terk began speaking again, explaining how scared she was and moved over to sit on the edge of the bed, opposite side the nurse was working from, and wrapped his arms around Terk. He rested his head against her, his cheek pressed against the top of her head, as he spoke next. “It’s okay to be scared. You have so many friends here that will be here for you throughout the whole ordeal, including me. Don’t think it would’ve been selfish though, Terk. You have to do what is best for you and your health but if you want to have the surgery I’ll be around before and after it each time. Okay?”
Terk shook her head, shrugging a little as she leaned into the light embrace that Flounder pulled her into. “There’s no need to be sorry. I’m going to be just fine. Cancer’s just.. a scary word, I guess.” It was a scary word, that came along with a very, very scary situation, but Terk wasn’t one to wallow. Not anymore. Not after everything she’d survived, and she wasn’t going to let something defeat her after everything she’d battled this year. This lifetime.
She sought out Flounder’s hand, taking it and squeezing it gently. There was no way she could tell Flounder that she regretted her decision, that she really just wanted to save herself for once. But she couldn’t do that. Couldn’t put herself first when it was her ability to have a family with Zero on the line. “I’ll be okay. I know I will be. But thank you. Really.”
It’s fine. Just. Yeah.
I know. I get that.
Mhmmm.
…scrolled what?
Um, never mind. It’s none of my business anyway.
Right. Sure.
Yep. Sorry.

Fingers crossed!
No, even if we weren’t, he’d be the hottest to me.
Ohh. Okay, I know what’s happening now.
My mind is taking a minute to catch up with the world.
I can see that.
Yeah. My bad.
Anyway, I know I don’t know you that well but how are you? I kinda scrolled from last night.
…scrolled what?

That’s a good question. Terk makes it more personal but Terkita is more formal and professional. It’s a toss up.
We’ll see what our interviewer addresses us as.
